Our team is based in Lantan, a small village in the shadow of the Rinjani volcano. It comes naturally that we specialize in unique multi-day visits to this natural wonder. Take a look below at where we can take you.

Waterfalls

One of the wonders of Rinjani are the innumerable waterfalls. If you would like to explore some of them we will incorporate them in your personal Rinjani hike.

The crater lake

One of the most amazing destinations on Rinjani is ‘Segara Anak’: the crater lake. If you are a confident climber you might be up for the tricky descent down into the crater. In this surreal location, we can comfortable spend a few days. The perfect place to relax, soak in the wonders around you, fish, swim, and enjoy the warm hot springs.

The jungle

The western and southern slopes of the volcano are covered in dense rainforests rich in flora and fauna. Get lost in this magical forest and learn about the abundance of life on Rinjani

Why we are unique

Trips to Rinjani are a large part of the tourist industry of Lombok. Most of these trips, if not all, are in Senaru and Sembalun. These two villages are on the north and east sides of Rinjani. Since we are on the opposite side of the peak of Rinjani, we do not offer hikes to the peak. But we make up for that with our unique options!

Lantan, the village where our team organizes its trips, is located on the southwestern side of the volcano. Barely any tourist comes here. We are officially the only group that offers hikes and trips from this pristine side of the volcano.

On the Lantan side of Rinjani you will find yourself all alone on the volcano. It is simply a magical experience. There is no trash or other groups of tourists, just you and your local guides on the mountain. It is an experience like nothing else!

We have a lot of respect for Rinjani. Because of that, we climb according to the traditional way. With respect for Rinjani itself, its nature, and all its wildlife.

Our packages

To keep it simple we offer 3 main packages:

Option 1: Semoler Mountain (perfect for beginners) 2 days / 1 night – $150 p/p

The first package we offer is a journey to Semoler Mountain on the edge of the crater. This trip will reward you with a beautiful sunset and a wonderful of the crater lake Segara Anak.

After an early alarm, we will start at the beginning of the rainforest at the edge of Lantan village. We will walk through the wonderful rainforest until we arrive at the grasslands. Surrounded by a surreal natural landscape we will make our way up to Semoler Mountain on the edge of Rinjani’s crater, where you will have the most stunning sunset of your life. You can even see Bali from there! At night you will sleep under the milkyway.

This trip includes one night on the mountain. Our team will take care of all the camping supplies. It is also possible to take it more easily and spend two nights on the mountain. Everything is possible.

The price may vary depending on the amount of nights.

Option 2: To the crater’s lake 3 days / 2 nights (intermediate) – $250 p/p

This trip is similar to the trip to Semoler above. On the second day, we will not return, however. Instead, we will make our descent into the crater’s lake of Rinjani. Don’t worry! Locals come here often to relax, fish, and have a good time. With us, you will have a chance to experience this. Tourists in Lombok usually don’t have this opportunity.

The descent is a bit tricky. So we recommend this package to intermediate and confident climbers only. Once we are down at the lake we will set up camp and spend the rest of the afternoon swimming or fishing. In the evening after dinner, you can even take a bath in the natural hot springs underneath the thousands of stars.

Since centuries various cultural groups in Lombok regard Segara Anak as the holy lake of Rinjani. This is not for no reason. It is truly a very special destination.

We can stay at the lake for as long as you like. If you would like to stay multiple days at Segara Anak, we will make it happen. Of course the price of the package depends on the amount of days we will go.

Option 3: Layur Mountain (intermediate) 4 days / 3 nights – $300 p/p

The trip to Layur Mountain is truly special. Layur is one of the mountains that make up the crater’s edge of Rinjani. The views on top of Layur is what makes to trip so amazing. From Layur Mountain you will be able to see all of Lombok. Even as far as Bali.

But it is not easy to get to Layur Mountain. It is far. Although the hike is not difficult, it will take 2 long days to get to our final destination. Layur Mountain has never been a place where tourists go, and it still is not. Traditionally the area is only visited by hunter and pilgrims.

Your guide will be Amaq Jamal, a retired hunter who knows the mountain better than anyone else. He has spent hundreds of trips to these remote locations on the mountain and seems to know every tree and ridge.

The trip to Layur is the most immersive experience we can offer. We will take you to the remotest corners of Rinjani. You will be in another world for a few days, far away from civilization. It is truly a life-changing experience.
